Welcome to Leal’s Tea Gardens where you can be sure of a warm and friendly welcome.  We are located in the centre of the beautiful and historic village of Godshill. Leal’s is a traditional tea garden serving a variety of teas, filter coffee, a selection of freshly baked home-made cakes, cream teas and freshly prepared light lunches.

During the warmer months it is the perfect place to relax and unwind. You can sit outside in the tranquillity of our unique garden with its fountains, waterfalls and hand sculpted stone seats and tables; watch the pond life, birds and if you are really lucky a red squirrel may put in an appearance. In the autumn and winter we have a wood burning stove which creates a warm and inviting atmosphere for you to enjoy.

A brief history of Leal’s

Leal’s bakery (now the Taverners) and for a short time the local post office, was owned by Louis Leal and his sister Ellen, they also owned the tea garden opposite (now Leals’s Tea Gardens) where they served tea and cakes made in their bakery. Their tea garden was visited by Queen Mary on numerous occasions when she stayed at Osbourne House.
